Healthy Mommy & Wife

Hello my name is Irene Lopez. I am 28 years old and I’ve struggled with my weight since I was in the in the seventh grade. I went through so many stages of not being able to control my eating. When I got into high school I was known as the big girl, it really didn’t bother me as much until one day my friend was going to introduce us to her friends and when they took a looked at me and my friend at the time they laughed and pointed at us and drove off. I was embarrassed, I weighed myself and I was at my heaviest 235pounds and I knew I had to change my lifestyle. When I graduated high school I was on a my diet and I would work out like a mad woman. I lost about 50 pounds in 3 month which was unhealthy, but I was happy with my results I would still workout but my eating habits slowly started to go back to the unhealthy food. I gained weight back and I knew that if I didn’t change my eating habits I would be back to the way I use to be. I ate healthy and at my smallest I was 155 pounds I knew that I would never be that big girl in high school.

In 2008 I meet my now husband and we found out that we were expecting our 1st baby in 2009; we were excited and extremely happy. I took advantage every craving I had my husband will fulfill for me. I gained 35 pounds during my pregnancy and I knew that I would get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. When my son was 5 months I started to work out, I would lose weight but I seemed to gain it back. I didn’t think nothing of it since I knew that I was not eating healthy I would cheat a lot on my meals. When My son was a year and a half I only managed to lose 15 pounds I ate healthy and worked out I was concerned on why I couldn’t lose more weight. I went to the My doctor to get my knee looked at and my Doctor said that I might need to have an ultrasound on my neck since he felt a bump on my thyroid I really didn’t think nothing of it and when I got my results back I found out I had thyroid cancer the reason why I couldn’t lose weight  I was crushed

On June 2012 I had Thyroidectomy surgery, I was told by my Doctor that I would have to take a pill for the rest of my life since I would no longer have a thyroid. I gained 15 pounds and another 10 pounds when I had to get treatment to kill any remaining cancer. To this day I am not happy where I am but I am happy that I got a second chance in life and I am slowly but surely losing weight and becoming happy with how much I’ve accomplished. I’ve managed to lose 15 and I am still continuing with My happy and healthy life style change
