Fat Kid Inside!
I am Amanda Sparks. I am two weeks from being 21 years old. I am currently 5’8 and in the best shape of my life!
I have always been pretty insecure about myself. I have been a little bit of everything… I have been the fat girl, the average girl, and the skinny girl. But never really the “happy” girl.
I was a pretty skinny child at first… but then once I continued on to the adolescence stage… I started to get “Chunky.” Of course I would try to ignore the fact that I was chunky… and continued my love affair with food. I would sneak a box of cheez its.. candy.. and of course my favorite frosting… I was a big stress eater.
Being the youngest of 5 children I was always compared to my other siblings. Especially my older sister. Being a chunky middle schooler when your sister is a pretty skinny blonde was hard to deal with… Most of my friends would always ask me why I was so fat and ugly.. while my sister turned out so beautiful! Which you could imagine… didn’t quite give me a great confidence boost… Let’s just say those weren’t my favorite years… (I ate lots and lots of frosting)
After awhile I got skinnier after being on the dance team for four years. But as soon as I graduated I started to gain it all back… yet again… Of course I looked through old pictures of myself in high school and compared them to the ones now and thought… oh nooo… I am not gaining weight… (denial) then after awhile a few pounds turned into 10… 15… 20… 25… And I just had to stop kidding myself… I was a fat kid, and needed to not let food and laziness control my life!
One day I just woke up and decided I was going to start taking care of myself… and I did! I was tired of being the non confident little fat kid I always felt inside! I needed to grow up and change my life for the better! I cut down to only drinking water. I do not let myself snack, eat fast food, or any type of junk food. And if I do… I work out an extra hour. I got metabolism boosters (you can get at GNC) and started my work outs! I have made my own special work out that I do everyday to target all my “problem” areas.
I have never felt so great about myself! I set a goal.. and accomplished it! It felt so great! and I kept setting more goals and completing them all! I am down to 15% body fat! And I am getting stronger and leaner every day!
Achieving all my goals was VERY hard work! But it is so worth it to feel as amazing as I do! I have lots of energy, I am motivated, strong, and confident! And this is the first time I can say dang… I look and feel good about myself!
I never plan on going back to how I was… I plan to work hard every single day from now on! Keep myself happy and healthy! Because I love this life style!
